1. What is Microblading?

Microblading, also known as semi-permanent makeup or micro pigmentation, is a technique where fine lines are scratched into the surface of the skin , and pigment embedded. The effect very closely mimics the look and detail of actual brow hairs, creating a bolder, natural-looking brow.

  2. What is Microshading?

Microshading, also known as semi-permanent makeup or 'powdered brows', is the process of implanting color pigment beneath the surface of the skin to produce the appearance of filled in brows. The overall look of the eyebrows once it has healed is more of a filled-in make-up look compared to the hair-like look of microblading. Some clients prefer this type of look or if someone has an oily skin complexion, this procedure might be more ideal for better healed results.

    Pregnant or nursing

  4. How long does the results last?

It depends on the individual, however hair color, skin type, after-care, and lifestyle also affect longevity of the results. Generally microbladed brows last for 1-3 years but often clients come in to be touched up as soon as one year. Occasional touch-ups are a way to refresh the results. Done correctly, the treatments do not change color and fade naturally away with time. For areas such as brows, this allows future flexibility with shape, as standards of beauty change.

  5. Does the microblading process hurt?

A topical anesthetic is used to numb the brow area prior to the procedure. You can expect some minor level of discomfort during the procedure similar to threading or tweezing.

  6. How long is the appointment?

The initial procedure takes approximately 2 - 3 hours. The appointment includes brow shaping, customized colour matching and microblading/microshading. The first half of the appointment is the consultative component of the procedure and the second half is the microblading itself.

  7. Why did my brows disappear after my initial appointment?

During the initial healing process, your skin will begin to flake. Once the flakes have fallen off, a shiny layer of healing skin will completely cover the hair strokes. It may appear as though the tattooed area has completely disappeared. Within 1-2 weeks, the hair strokes will slowly reappear at a lighter shade as your skin regenerates.

  8. How long will my brows take to heal?

The initial healing period is one week. The complete healing process takes between 6-8 weeks. It should not be a problem going to work or doing daily activities immediately after as long as you are following the after care instructions.
